How did I miss this?

Pamela Wood Browne, the administrator at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Long Beach, California, has a blog she calls “Finding my UU Soul.” I found some pretty good posts on church administration, one of my passions — such as this post about using automated phone answering systems in a church office: link. She’s also got a pretty cool office chair: link.

And of all the Unitarian Universalist blogs I have checked on Technorati, she has the second highest “authority” ranking, with over 200 blogs linking to her in the past 180 days. (In first place is a home schooling blog written by a Unitarian Universalist, with some 567 links from other blogs in the past 180 days, but you won’t find much mention of Unitarian Universalism on it.)

As Philocrites continues to cut back on his publication schedule — with a resulting dip in his Technorati rating — I’ve been waiting to see who will take his place as the most authoritative Unitarian Universalist blog. How appropriate that a church administrator would move upwards into the top blogging spot….

Thanks for mention! I’m glad to find a kindred-spirit with church administration passions. By the way, I grew up in a church with a dulcimer-player and loved it when she participated in the service! Brings back fond memories… Oh, and it is very cool chair :)

Hi there! Thanks for reminding me that I need to talk more about one of my favorite subjects! Although I never intended Imperfect Genius to be solely about once subject (not even entirely about homeschooling) I have mentioned Unitarian Universalism several times in previous posts and when I did I noticed it had a fairly wide ripple effect. Several families from across the country have contacted me to ask questions after first hearing about UUism through my homeschooling adventures, since it reaches a different audience than other blogs intended for those who are already aware of UUism. I’m delighted that three local families have joined our UU after having first discovered Unitarian Universalism through casual reading of my blog. I haven’t been writing much at all recently, with many real-life events taking priority. But I look forward to discussing it much more in the future once things settle down. Have a great weekend!

    Pamela — I {heart} church admin.

Susan — No pressure or anything. Actually, the rest of us UU bloggers could learn from you. Those of us who concentrate so narrowly on Unitarian Universalism aren’t exactly going to engage in conversations beyond denominational boundaries. Like calling a blog “Yet Another Unitarian Universalist” is actually pretty limiting, when you think about it.
