A circle of stuffed animals sitting around a lighted chalice, in a worship space

My sister Abby is a children's librarian, and she introduced me to Stuffed Animal Sleepovers, where children let their stuffed animals spend the night in a library; the children's librarians takes photos of the stuffed animals reading books, making dinner, and going to bed. In June, 2020, during the COVID pandemic, I held a Stuffed Animal Sleepover at our congregation, to help kids stay connected with our buildings (though as it turned out, the adults were more fascinated by the sleepover than were the kids). Since then, many other Unitarian Universalist congregations have held their own Stuffed Animal Sleepovers. Above is a photo of the stuffed animals holding a worship service in our main worship space.
