I had to abandon the project because life got in the way. Someday maybe I&#8217;ll finish the book, but in the mean time to help you celebrate Yule and Christmas, here are three of the completed lead sheets: &#8220;Children, Go Where I Send Thee,&#8221; transcribed from a 1942 Library of Congress recording; &#8220;A Christmas Caroll&#8221; by Thomas Ravenscroft; and &#8220;The Cutty Wren,&#8221; one of those songs about the weird winter tradition of the hunting of the wren.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"791\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/www.danielharper.org\/yauu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/winter-songs-pdf-791x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-9036\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Yeah, I know it&#8217;s still unsafe to sing in large groups, but you can sing these at home.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A few years ago, I started working on a book of songs and carols for winter holidays, pitched for medium voices (most Christmas carols are pitched for sopranos and tenors), arranged on simple lead sheets.
