The vinyl animal noses I&#8217;ve been using for the past decade and a half have started to get tacky, and it&#8217;s time to stop using them. Nor did I want to purchase new animal noses; the world doesn&#8217;t need any more cheap vinyl junk. First I made a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.danielharper.org\/yauu\/2018\/11\/chicken-hat\/\">chicken hat<\/a> as a possible replacement for the chicken nose, but this week I decided that making five other animal hats (and finding a place to store them) simply wasn&#8217;t practical.<\/p>\n<p>So instead I made animal ears mounted on head bands. It turns out that animal ears mounted on head bands are a substantial cottage industry, sold on Etsy (just search for &#8220;farm animal ears&#8221;) and elsewhere. But I decided to make my own &#8212; cow ears, donkey ears, dog ears, pig ears, mouse ears, and a chicken crest &#8212; using hair bands, felt, wire for stiffener, and a hot melt glue gun.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"957\" src=\"https:\/\/www.danielharper.org\/yauu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/BlogDec0818-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7419\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.danielharper.org\/yauu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/BlogDec0818-1.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.danielharper.org\/yauu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/BlogDec0818-1-300x280.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.danielharper.org\/yauu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/BlogDec0818-1-768x718.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 709px) 85vw, (max-width: 909px) 67vw, (max-width: 1362px) 62vw, 840px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>It would have been cheaper (once you figure in my time) and easier to purchase the ears available on Etsy.
