As an engineering physicist and R&#038;D man in the for-profit sector, Dad had to be an excellent project manager, so of course he had the foresight to write his own obituary, which you can read <a href=\"http:\/\/www.deefuneralhome.com\/obituaries\/obituary-listings?obId=871077#\/obituaryInfo\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Me? I&#8217;m feeling mostly relief at this point; Dad&#8217;s quality of life wasn&#8217;t that great the last couple of months. Maybe Dad is relieved, too, though since he was a non-theist (he said he couldn&#8217;t call himself a humanist because he didn&#8217;t think humans should be at the center of the universe), the tense is wrong: let&#8217;s say: maybe Dad <em>was<\/em> relieved when he finally died.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>My dad died this morning, after illnesses lasting two years.
