Recently, I heard some new verses for the parody version of “Old Time Religion.” Here they are:

\nYoruba religion, a.k.a. Orisha devotion:<\/em><\/p>\n

Let us pray to the Orishas,
\nNot the ones who are too vicious,
\nJust the ones who grant our wishes;
\nAnd that’s good enough for me!<\/p>\n

Ancient Egyptian religion:<\/em><\/p>\n

O we sing the praise of Horus
\nLike the Dynasties before us —
\nA three thousand year old chorus;
\nAnd that’s good enough for me!<\/p>\n

Worshiping at the altar of Wall Street:<\/em><\/p>\n

The mighty Dollar is my Savior,
\nShe controls my ev’ry behavior
\nWhether I spend her or I save her;
\nAnd that’s good enough for me!<\/p>\n
