We had forgotten that the Lunar New Year celebrations are still going on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Walking down Grant Street, we ran into some dragons who guarded by men wearing bright yellow t-shirts emblazoned with the name of a local kung fu studio, and who were surrounded by tourists with cameras and cellphones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Someone set off lots of firecrackers; the smoke filled the street.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/danielharper.org\/yauu\/2011\/02\/lunar-new-year\/blogfeb1211a\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-111\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"350\" height=\"263\" src=\"http:\/\/danielharper.org\/yauu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/BlogFeb1211A.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-111\" title=\"BlogFeb1211A\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.danielharper.org\/yauu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/BlogFeb1211A.jpg 350w, https:\/\/www.danielharper.org\/yauu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/BlogFeb1211A-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 350px) 85vw, 350px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>There\u2019s a Chinese diner we like on Washington Street, and we went there to get some congee. But even there we unwittingly came across new year activities.
